March is MS Awareness Month!
Multiple sclerosis (or MS) is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope to people affected by the disease.(http://www.nationalmssociety.org/about-multiple-sclerosis/what-we-know-about-ms/what-is-ms/index.aspx)
If I know my Frikes, I know they love a good cause. MS is an awful disease, as some of you can attest from personal experience. Let's raise some money for the National MS Society.
How about a bracelet? This one is in my Etsy shop, and for the month of March, all proceeds from its sale will go to the National MS Society.
Also, Cathy's Creations will be sponsoring one of our frikes, Crystal Gilreath and her team for an MS walk this month. Donate to Crystal's team HERE. While you're at it, click HERE to read Crystal's story. She has an important personal interest in this cause.
Or, click on the button on the upper right to donate to the National MS Society directly.
Besides the wonderful feeling you'll get from donating to a worthy cause, you'll also have a chance to win a t-shirt with this awesome design, made by the lovely Kim of Eggo in the Oven.
I'll be giving away one t-shirt (in the size and style of the winner's choice) per week. If you buy an MS bracelet, you're automatically entered. If you donate, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to let me know. I'll be choosing winners on each Saturday during the month of March!
