THE WINNER IS.....
-
I would like to nominate my neighbor, Laurie Hebert... 3 years ago, her youngest child and only son was killed in IRAQ. Her family is very private but they continue to give back to the community and to other servicemen everyday! (I just noticed that for Veteran's Day, they have their house lite up in red, white, and blue lights...) and they fly their flag everyday.
A wonderful Frike, Casey Patton, has purchased and donated a Red, White and You bracelet to be given away on Thursday, November 11th for Veterans Day.
Her request is that the bracelet go to someone who is in the military or has a close loved one in the military. If that's you (or you know someone in that situation you'd like to nominate), comment on this post and I'll choose a winner from the comments on Thursday.
Thank you, wonderful, generous Frike!
My brother is currently serving in Iraq right now, I would love to nominate his wife my sister in law Gabbi Douglas. I know she would love it, thanks!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to give this bracelet to my mother. My father served in the Navy for 30 years. There are 5 of us children and my mother sacrificed so much for our family when Papa was deployed for 6 months at a time. I am very proud to be a Navy brat and miss Papa dearly. He passed away 9/10/09. Both of my older sister's husbands are in the military and since Papa's passing, my mother has been with one of my sisters to help out with the kids as her husband has been in Afghanistan all year.
ReplyDeleteI'm so thankful for my mother and the dedication she showed to my papa all those years and how she is still helping to support our military families.
I'm a military wife, hubby is in Navy. He's coming home tomorrow on leave to help pack up our house because we are moving from NY to Florida. Due to money problems and problems with the Navy we haven't seen each other in 2 yrs. Happy, and worried all at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI would like to donate this bracelet to my best friend Lauren. Her husband is in the Navy and has been for almost 10 years. She has survived deployments while raising their daughter, and most recently she bought a house while he was gone (with his blessing of course) and moved her entire house by herself. She had her husband home for less than 2 months when he had to leave again. She is the epitome of devoted military wife.

ReplyDeleteI would like to nominate my sister in law Evonne. My brother is in the National Guard. He had to leave his three month old baby girl for six months last year.
ReplyDeleteI would like to nominate my Niece Melissa Golden. She and her husband got a divorce and she was unable to financially support her 2 kids. She joined the army and had to leave them with her mom during basic training. As soon as she came back she got orders for Iraq and had to once again leave her babies behind. It was very hard on them but she had to do what she had to in order to take care of her family. Since then, she met a wonderful man and got married, had baby #3 and now they are happily stationed in Germany. Melissa is a very proud Mother and Soldier. She loves our country and feels very blessed she has been able to serve for our country and now be back with her kids and able to support them once again.

ReplyDeleteWe are not in the military but are a Boy Scout family. My third son is finishing up his Eagle Scout project and I would love to wear this at his ceremony. We have been a scouting family for many years! Actually more than I'd like to say because I was a girl scout when I was younger! LOL
ReplyDeleteI would like to nominate my mother-in-law, Wendy, to receive this bracelet. My husband, her son, is in the Navy and I think she would LOVE this bracelet. I am very good friends with Casey and my husband and her husband are basically brothers. The bracelet is beautiful Cathy!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to give this to my wife, our son is currently serving overseas. We are very proud of him, its really hard for her at times though.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have this bracelet to show support for my US Marine husband and ALL US Marines that so bravely serve our country!
ReplyDeleteI Would Like To Nominate My Uncle Tracy's Wife Pamela To Get This Bracelet. I Would Like To Be Able To Give This Bracelet To Her For Christmas. My Uncle Is In The Army And Has Been On 3 Deployments & Could Be Called To Go Back At Any Time. He Has 4 Kids And It Has Been Very Hard On Them. When Their Daddy Leaves They Never Know If He Is Gonna Come Back But We Always Pray He Will. I Love My Uncle & This Would Be A Great Gift For His Family.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Kaylea Stutts
Wow! There are so many deserving family members!
ReplyDeleteI would like to nominate my mother, Teresa. Her son is serving in Afghanistan with the 1st MEF (Marines). He is the middle son of 5! I don't know how she does it, how she can seem so calm and under control all the time. But some how she does.....
I would love this bracelet as a Marine wife I would be proud to wear it!
ReplyDeleteDo they have to be serving currently?
ReplyDeleteNo..no they do not
ReplyDeleteThe reason I ask is I'd like to nominate the mother of a friend of mine from high school. Ricky was killed in action 6 yrs ago in Iraq.
ReplyDeleteI would love to give this bracelet to the mother of a good friend of mine. My friend's name was Aaron Aamot and he was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan almost exactly a year ago to the day. I know she is probably really struggling right now as we remember all of our veterans and I would love to give this bracelet to her in Aaron's memory. I will never forget this wonderful young man.
ReplyDeleteMy very close friend Elina lost her Brother in the Iraq war. he was a green beret, Army Ranger and died fighting the insurgents. She's very proud of him and we all miss him terribly. I'd love for her to be able to wear the bracelet.
ReplyDeleteI would like to nominate my mother in law Mary, my brother in law/ her son is serving in Iraq...
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful bracelet. I am a proud Navy wife. My husband is in his 10th year in the U.S. Navy. We have overcome a LOT of obstacles in the past ten years. I think it has only made us stronger! He has only been home for the birth of one of our three children. He has missed so much. I am so thankful he will be home this holiday season. I am also so thankful that he has made it home safely from each and every long deployment. We love our country and wouldn't change a thing about our life!
